Тучи сомкнулись над бренной земью,
Накрывши тенью всю долину.
Гроза громыхает в беспросветном
Небесном Море.
Стопы громовержца,
Полные исполинской тяжести,
Сотрясают Землю.
Птица Грома рвёт когтями небо,
Озаряя свод огнём небесным.
Изрыгает рёв из львиной пасти,
Пробивая брешь в небесной тверди,
Впуская Море.
Боги наступают,
Факелы в их десницах горят
Дабы зажечь всю Землю.
Что было светлым, — во тьму обратилось.
English translation:
The clouds closed over the mortal soil,
Shadowed the whole valley.
The storm rumbles in the gloomy
Sea of heaven.
The Thunderers' feet,
Full of colossal heaviness,
Shake the Earth
Bird of Storm tears the sky with the claws,
It lights the dome with heavenly fire,
Spits the roar out of the lion's maw,
Breaches into the firmament,
Letting the Sea in.
Gods are coming
With torches burning in their hands.
They're going to set the Earth on fire.
All that was light, turned into darkness.
